Doing Drone Differently: Capturing The Feel of a Unique North Fork Build

This remarkable project, Salty Meadow, by North Fork Woodworks was a pleasure to shoot. The architect, Chris Powers of Powers Hancock Design, did a remarkable job and, as always, NFWW executed it flawlessly.

Showing a standard ‘shot list’ didn’t seem to be the best way to capture the real ‘impression’ of actually experiencing this special, peaceful place on the North Fork, or how someone might feel actually living there. So, rather than going the usual ‘speed ramp and on-beat’ Instagram-shorts approach that we all see so much of, we went the other way - long, relaxed and meditative.

The end result, mixing and alternating night-and-day drone runs of the same spaces, and letting the video take as long as it needed to better reflect the in-person experience felt like the way to go - and we think it captures the essence of both project and place perfectly.
